Fading Summer

Wow. Where did the Summer go? I love summer. Lazy days at the beach, dinner on the deck, clipping in the garden & sour lemonade. Why does it have to end so soon?

Why? Because fading Summer gives way to Fall. After all, where would we be without cozy sweaters, apple picking and hayrides? Soups, pies and apple cider taste better in the Autumn.
Not to mention the enticing aromas of Roasted Turkey and Cookies during the Holidays. And although Summer's bright colors are brilliant, Fall's earth colors are majestic.

Yes. Change can be a wonderful thing.
However, most of us, by nature, are resistant to change. It scares us, threatens our comfort zone and sometimes puts us
in a state of anxiety.
Of course, it is the fear of the unknown that can throw us into a tizzy. But as we can see from the seasonal changes,
Change is for our own good.
It keeps the mind sharper, the senses vivid and the physique strong.

Try to see change as opportunity.
The opportunity to grow in wisdom.
The opportunity to lend a helping hand to others.
The opportunity to expose ourselves to new experiences.
The opportunity to improve on a skill.
The opportunity to develop relationships that otherwise would have never happened.

Try to view change as an adventure instead of a
hindering disappointment.
Then we can see how change allows us to expand our horizons.

It's a great big world out there.
Get out there and seize those opportunities.

And as the weather cools, be sure to enjoy the transition.
Before you know it, hot chocolate weather will be here and we'll be sitting around a cozy fireplace with our down comforters ;)
